Exclusive Skiing Experiences at Skye Niseko

Step straight onto the Niseko Hirafu’s stunning slopes in style at Skye Niseko, which offers the finest ski-in ski-out experience.

Skye Niseko is an absolute must if skiing is your thing. Flanked by Niseko Hirafu’s biggest lifts, the resort offers an incredible ski-in ski-out experience in Japan’s snow-dusted Hokkaido. Sitting at the top of Hirafu village, the resort has a range of slopes sitting right on its doorstep, surrounded by jaw-dropping views of snow-sculpted landscapes.

The resort places omotenashi – the Japanese ideal of hospitality – at its heart to deliver unforgettable experiences in this alpine winter wonderland. Combining long stay living with hotel accommodation, all rooms feature stunning décor, luxurious furniture, and exquisite stone and wood finishes. The rooms take in nine types, from standard hotel rooms through to the penthouses. Located on the top floor, they boast fantastic vistas of the surroundings. To cap the experience, they come with their own fire pit and outdoor onsen. Perfect for the evenings!

The slope-to-doorstep facilities are what make Skye Niseko a true skier’s paradise. Situated mere minutes from the Grand Hirafu Gondola and lifts, a raft of snow experiences waits for beginners, advanced, and everyone in between. The resort’s ski valet entrance/ exit offers easy access to a series of ski experiences, including Hirafu Gondola and the Holiday Pair Lift and GoSnow Magic Carpet, perfect for family fun and beginners. A ski valet service and rentals are also available at the hotel through Yama Sport.

Sticking to the omotenashi concept, Skye Niseko’s staff are on hand to help book a range of experiences crafted to delve into the wonder of winter. Elite private instructors also offer personalized learning. Private and group half- and full-day ski and snowboard lessons are available traversing the area’s sublime variety of slopes. A thrilling way to experience Niseko’s beauty is by jumping on board a snowmobile to zoom below the canopy of snow-dusted alpines.

After working up an appetite, head to Kumo Restaurant to devour its Hokkaido-inspired menu, designed by world-class chefs. Serving honest, uncomplicated dishes that fuse traditional Japanese flavors with modern flair, Kumo’s menu uses fresh local seafood, locally-sourced eats and farm vegetables. The lunch menu features casual dishes, such as Shepard’s pie, croque monsieur and hamburgers. Accompanying each bite are serene views of Mount Yotei through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Simply wow!

Wellness is another element that sits at the core of Skye Niseko’s philosophy, with care taken to ensure every second of each stay is positive for guests’ bodies and minds. No trip to Japan is complete without experiencing an onsen hot spring. Thankfully, you don’t need to leave the resort to try. Its mineral rich onsen baths draw water from nearby thermal streams to create a soothing experience. Private onsens are available for those who are a tad shy.

On-site Ryko Spa’s expert team of therapists are also on-hand to knead away any knots from the slopes. A range of body treatments, massages, facial therapies and body care options provide the perfect way to spend the day. It is also home to Hokkaido’s first float tank, which uses local mountain spring water filled with mineral salts that make you float in the water. Relax and drift into a peaceful state of mind as you let your body be totally gravity free.
